hello you wonderful lovely perfectly glorious lot. Oh my goodness. I'm so sorry that it's taken us this long to email you. We literally posted our first thank you cards two days ago. You may have realised by the slightly flustered few days before our wedding that we're no organised duo.
however, we are the happiest duo alive. I know we're completely and utterly biased, but how amazing was our wedding? we both knew we were meant to have a good day and were so excited about getting married, but quite honestly, i don't think we were actually prepared for how much we, us two, would enjoy it.
Everything was utterly perfect. And i think you lot might be largely to blame. being given a drink as soon as we were wed in a room that looked utterly wonderful. having the perfect little starters brought to us on a tray whilst we had our photos taken. the most delicious meal we've eaten in a long long time. just what we had imagined. james, thank you so much for embracing our ideas and making them better. jen, i remember sitting down as the food began to arrive looking at how amazing everything looked and spotting your gorgeous frenchtea towels on the bread trays and thinking, no one else will notice those but they make my eyes so so happy. and the cakes. wow. the cakes. just perfect. more photographed than us two i think. your staff were delightful.
You did far more than i think you signed up for. jen, thank you so much for dealing with the slightly chaotic stream of things from my dad and brother in the morning. poor them, poor you. but everything found it's place and looked just lovely.
There are 100 other things that i'm sure we'll wish we mentioned, but please accept our most sincere thanks for being such a pleasure to work with and such a very important part of making our perfect day, well, perfect.

The meal was absolutely delicious, the tables looked gorgeous and the staff were, without exception, all so pleasant, helpful and efficient. From first meeting Jen we knew Kalm Kitchen were the company for us, her laid back approach and professionalism is second to none and put us at ease in something that could have been very stressful. James came to our house to allow us to taste the food while looking after our new born son which we feel goes above and beyond any service we have experienced before or after our wedding. By the time the day arrived it felt as though we had friends looking after us rather than a company. On the day all the food was delicious and brought to the table looking elegant and appetising. The staff even looked after our baby when he needed a sleep. We are still getting comments on how good the food was almost a year on!!! We have just got back from honeymoon and wanted to write to say thank you for being so fantastic on our wedding day.
I walked past the Great Hall as I arrived at the Castle (late!) and caught a glimpse of the tables - and promptly burst into tears. I couldn't believe how our sitting room of cardboard boxes filled with random jugs and pots and menus and books and pictures of hens could have been transformed so magically into that stunning room. It was beyond anything I had ever imagined and I couldn't believe it was all actually for our wedding day.
After the ceremony your waiting staff were absolutely fantastic, making everyone feel so special from the football team lads to my elderly grandfather - I will never forget that moment, standing in the sun watching the children run across the lawn, sipping Earl Grey from a china cup and feeling just so happy.
Our wedding breakfast was outstanding. All around us were little gasps as our guests read the menus and three weeks on people are still writing to us to comment on it all. Asta LOVED her childrens box, what a fantastic idea, as did the other little ones.
The evening food, too, was delicious. Thank you for chopping up all that cheese! We had lots left and it's taken up our freezer. The cake looked beautiful, we loved it.
I suppose most of all we want to thank you for just being so supportive and making us feel like you really cared. Jen, the day would have been nowhere near the perfect one we had without you. The cheese on slates with the port, the mini summer puds, the gorgeous evening bowl food and all your advice about the table decorations, I could go on and on.
We also loved that you were so proactive in delivering everything, particularly that everyone got a cocktail on arrival which was a really good idea. Everyone loved the bar and the mixologists were brilliant. Thank you James for putting us in touch with them, they really helped us to get the quantities just right and it worked out perfectly.
I know people do tend to say the 'right' things at weddings but I really think people meant it when they lovingly said we had "raised the bar" for future weddings and that they felt so very honoured to have been invited to something so special. One guest wrote in a thank you card that it was "intimate, elegant and delightfully understated" which was exactly what we wanted. You did that for us.

We cannot thank you enough for what you did to make our wedding so special. We could fill pages on how good you were!
After just one meeting we knew we really want you to be our caterers – such a professional yet relaxed approach that stood out from others we talked to – and then we tasted James’ amazing cooking.
We loved the fact that you are so flexible in your offering - you listened to what we wanted for our day and for our food, then created options that built on this and talked openly with us about what we liked to make it 1000 times better than we could have envisaged. So much nicer than a set list of options! Nothing was ever too much trouble and the answer seemed always to be “Yes”. Your advice always focused on what would be best for us (even if it meant less business for you!).
And then the day – wow!! As you know we had put a lot of planning into a long and varied day but we never had to even think about one thing thanks to your amazing efforts.
Your staff were attentive and so professional and an absolute credit to you. It was the little touches that stood out – how they dealt with the children, getting drinks for us before the guests arrived, spotting the people sitting quietly in the shade and making sure they were OK and offering a drink. We had so many comments from everyone specifically on your staff as well as the stunning food! From early in the morning to the late evening your service was absolutely flawless – especially making the quick changeovers and setting up the barn just how we envisaged it.
The food was amazing throughout – the starters and desserts were not just gorgeous but presented beautifully. Thank you so much for making the ‘carve it on the table’ experience we wanted for the delicious lamb so much fun – although am not sure our guests as the carvers quite lived up to James’ food presentation levels! The food boxes for the kids were fantastic and beautifully put together – your attention to detail is something. And then the hog roast in the evening was sublime! We have had nothing but a stream of great comments from all (including for the various kosher / vegetarian options!)
Can we wish you all the very best for the future – you are a very talented couple and we will always look back fondly at the contribution you made to our day. With so many comments on the quality of food and service being head and shoulders over what people have had at weddings (including their own) you know you have found some special caterers – not that we needed telling! I wish we could do more than simply say thanks as it seems so in adequate as you made such a special difference to our day – we will just have to engineer lots of occasions where we can use you!

My husband and I decided to hold a lunch to celebrate our 80th and 70th birthdays which fell within a few weeks of each other. Jen was charm and efficiency personified and attended to all the detailed arrangements with understanding and patience. On the day the large and very efficient young staff were quite excellent as were those working hard in the kitchen led by Jen's husband James who produced highly acclaimed dishes. On departure, everything was left spotless. A sure sign of a first class caterer. I wanted to drop you a quick note to say thank you for providing the catering service at our wedding. Your help, advice and guidance before the wedding to get us the right menu, table settings etc were gratefully received, and the tasting session beforehand was great fun, if not a kittle too much food given we had a dinner party that evening!!

The food on the day itself was also fantastic, how you managed to cook the fillet of beef so such perfection in our garage, for 130 people and all at the same time amazed us both.

The food was amazing, every single thank you card received has commented on the outstanding quality of the food itself, the presentation and the staff.

We really can’t thank you enough for understanding exactly what we wanted and making it happen. Having been in direct communication with you leading up to the wedding, I was blown away and totally impressed with how you dealt with us right from the start. Always prompt to reply to messages or emails, up front and fair with pricing all the way through, your consistently accommodating and ‘can-do’ attitude. It really was such a pleasure to work with you. You clearly did everything you could to help us plan and put together the perfect package and not once did I feel that you were sneaking in costs or trying to get me to spend more money!! I felt confident that you knew what you were doing and that everything would be taken care of and also, that if we had missed anything or if things went wrong, you wouldn’t think twice to step in and improvise to make sure the day went well. I also felt you were really flexible through the whole process and willing to adjust your package as much as possible to give us exactly what we were looking for.
